Air Liquide manufactures sulphur dioxide pure gas with purity up to 99.9% to be used in a variety of applications, including chemical synthesis, pesticides and disinfectants. Industrial Sulphur dioxide is also used as a component in various gas mixtures, in a variety of balance gases primarily used in environmental monitoring.
Winemaking
Sulphur dioxide (SO2) in wine is used as a preservative because of its anti-oxidative and anti-microbial properties. Also SO2 is used as a cleaning agent for barrels and winery facilities.
